Greens commend Peter Pollard and his week's hunger strike at Menwith Hill

1 Jul 08

Peter Pollard's reply:-

I would just like to say I was very honoured with the commendation from the Yorkshire and Humber region Green Party after the Hunger protest on the 15th June.

It gave me a great sense of achievement, in that 'someone' especially the Green Party had shared my concerns of the environmental disaster which would follow any exchange in anger of nuclear weaponry.

Now, especially, for those countries who are being undemocratically  forced into a rapidly deteriorating situation caused by the tactical deployment of these 'Freeze' do not move missiles in their indigenous countries, the time seems right to act.

It is time to say stop, and collectively, and as decent minded people we deserve the right to have our say without fear of punishment.

And so if you could pass on my thanks, I can only say again it was a privilege to serve the country, and its people, and our international colleagues.

P.Pollard.

Vote Green for a future we can be proud of, for sustainability, for civil liberties and for justice within international relations.
