30th April 2009 - THINK AGAIN GREEN PARTY PEB, 2’30”

Hello, we are the Green Party. You might think you know us but you’d probably be wrong. If you think we’re only concerned about the environment. Think again...Our policies cover education, healthcare…the economy…jobs and human rights, to name but a few...

And if you think we’re all talk and no action, think again. We fought against the European Commission and the Food Industry to make sure all food containing GM ingredients is clearly labelled.

Why? Because we believe you have the right to know exactly what you and your family are eating.

So if genetically modified ingredients are something you want to avoid, now you can. You might assume we don’t know much about the economy either. But think again. Our economic policies are designed to work for the next 50 years, not just the next 50 days.

That’s why we’re campaigning relentlessly to create new jobs, overhaul big finance, and close tax havens. And if you think we’re here to nag ‘you’ about doing your bit for the planet. Think again. We believe it is Government’s responsibility to enable us to live in an environmentally friendly way, and because of us, all new London buses will run on hybrid engines by 2012, creating a third less pollution. You might also think that all political parties look after big corporations for their own gains. But think again...

We’ve gained Parliamentary support to investigate supermarket monopolies and help protect small business owners. And we led the campaign to stop the toy industry from using toxic and carcinogenic substances, to protect the health of your children.

Now if you think a vote for us doesn’t really count? Think again…Because elections to the European Parliament are decided by proportional representation, more green votes mean more green voices. We currently have two MEPs - but imagine if there were more of us…

To tackle climate change

To challenge immoral bankers

To stand up to unethical businesses.

And take on anyone else who may threaten your health, your community or your future.

A vote for the other parties will only result in more of the same. So if you don’t want things to continue the way they are…If you think fairness, integrity and the environment belong in politics...

CAROLINE: Then you ‘think’ exactly like us. And if you have supported us before, or have ever considered it, then make sure you vote for the Green Party in the forthcoming European Elections.

Just think what a change it could make.

SUPER: Vote for The Green Party on June 4th.
